AKC FastCAT

Does your dog love to run?  Is your dog fast?  Does your dog like to chase things?  Then FastCAT is the sport for you!  This is a coursing ability test in a 100 yard dash where dogs run one at a time chasing a lure.  You will see your dog’s time and that can be calculated to miles per hour.  Greyhounds and whippets often run this 100 yard dash in the 5 second range while pugs and bassett hounds run in the 11-12 second range.

This is a sport that uses a dog’s natural abilities to chase things. Dogs 12 month’s of age or older are welcome to compete that have a full AKC registration, purebred alternative listing, foundation stock service registration or all mixed breeds who have a Canine Partners registration.

A FastCAT Track is coming soon to Tri-State Kennel Club!  We will offer some fun runs where you can come try it with your dog.  Then, later we will offer actual events!  Dogs absolutely love this sport and it’s really fun to watch the various breeds run!
